Carrie South joined Capstone January of 2020 and is our receptionist and office manager. A proud Winston Salem native, Carrie has 19 years of customer service and office support experience. Carrie is responsible for most all the “behind the scenes” daily activities that are integral to keeping the company running smoothly.
Prior to joining Capstone Carrie worked in an administrative capacity for several of Winston Salem’s largest employers like Wachovia Securities, Novant Health and Wake Forest Baptist Health.
Carrie is a mother and artist. In her spare time, she enjoys art, animals, trips to the mountains, and most of all, being a mom.
Derek has 22 years of corporate-owned and third-party property management experience. He specializes in commercial, residential and multi-family asset management. Derek is a member of the Community Associations Institute of North Carolina, National Association of Residential Property Managers, National Association of REALTORS, Winston Salem Regional Association of REALTORS and is a designated Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB).
Prior to founding Capstone Realty Consultants, Derek was a Property Manager for one of the Triad’s largest full service third-party real estate management companies where he supervised day-to-day operations of a complex real estate portfolio comprised of mid-rise commercial office buildings, mixed-use buildings containing both commercial and residential condominium units, and a number of more traditional condominium associations. Derek was directly responsible for developing and implementing annual operating budgets totaling several million dollars, capital reserve studies and estimations, lease and covenant enforcement, energy efficiency studies, routine maintenance and repairs, project management and construction services (e.g. elevator modernizations, private sewer system maintenance and replacement, tenant upfits, insurance claims negotiation, crisis management, roofing, HVAC, fire and life-safety, historic building rehabilitations regulated by the National Historic Resources Commission, etc.).
Derek was also previously General Manager/Area Manager for Colonial Properties Trust, one of the nation’s top-ranked real estate investment trust companies, where he supervised day-to-day operations of over 1,100 multifamily and residential units throughout the Triad and Raleigh-Durham markets, which included development and implementation of annual operating budgets totaling close to 9.5 million dollars.
As a Winston Salem native, Derek grew up with parents in the community’s real estate and finance industries. As a result, he acquired at an early age, a wealth of real estate knowledge that is typically only gained through decades of real-world experience.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys outdoor adventures and anything that produces an adrenaline rush. Some of his favorite activities include camping, kayaking, whitewater rafting, hiking and rollercoasters. Above all, though, Derek is most passionate about taking his jeep rock crawling throughout the Southeast with his friends.

Lisette G. San Pedro joined Capstone in February 2020 and serves as one of our property managers. A Miami, Florida native, Lisette has over 20 years of experience in property management including residential, commercial and community associations.
Prior to joining Capstone Lisette was a property manager for First Service Residential, one of Miami’s top property management firms. Lisette managed the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of luxury high-rise condominiums in one of the fastest growing condominium markets in the country.
Lisette moved to Winston Salem to be close to her daughter, a sophomore at prestigious Wake Forest University, with plans to make Winston Salem their permanent home.
Lisette is energetic, professional, pleasant and dedicated to the communities she manages.
Laura E. Morrison joined Capstone in 2019 and serves as our in-house accountant. With a decade of property management accounting experience, Laura is a member of our executive team and works directly with our property managers to ensure proper and timely accounting processes are achieved.
Laura specializes in property management accounting and is responsible for every aspect of our accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting processes for our real estate portfolio. She is well versed in property management and accounting software. You will find Laura always eager to answer any of your accounting related questions.
Prior to joining Capstone, Laura was the in-house accountant for another property management firm in Winston Salem.
Laura was also previously a flight attendant for 16 years. Flying during 9/11 taught her a lot about forming bonds with all types of people and developing strong relationships which has become the foundation of everything that she does, both professionally and personally.
Laura is inspired daily by her husband Roy, stepdaughter Abby, and their giant fur-baby, Loki. In her free time, Laura likes to take last minute road trips, eat mounds of crab legs and work on crafts. If it stands still long enough, it will be spray painted!
Kellie Godfrey joined Capstone in 2017 and serves as a property manager. Kellie has over fifteen years of property management experience including residential, community association and resort management.
Kellie oversees the day-to-day operations of Capstone’s rental portfolio and a variety of community associations.
Prior to joining Capstone Kellie was the leasing manager for another real estate firm in Winston Salem. Kellie has also previously worked for some of the area’s largest real estate firms like Equity Lifestyle Properties, Falcon Management Corporation and BSC Holdings, Inc.
Kellie and her husband, Michael, are empty nesters and they are enjoying that lifestyle. Kellie has a son and daughter, two stepdaughters, and two grandsons. In her spare time, she and her husband are big “foodies” and love to try new recipes and foods. She loves to go to concerts because she is a huge live music fan. Kellie loves to travel and is always up for a good road trip even if it is only for a day.
